Preparation
• Prepare two FliteSim.com Force Feedback (FFB) yokes (they can be of different models) (Please ensure the firmware versions are identical)
• Prepare Cat6 (or higher) standard RJ45 Ethernet cables (quantity: number of YOKE devices
• Obtain a CAN network terminator (with 120Ω terminal resistance for CAN network, installed between pins 1 and 2) (INCLUDED if you ordered two yokes in the same order)
• Connect the devices to be coupled in series using Ethernet cables (CAN0 and CAN1 are functionally identical, no need to differentiate)
• Plug the CAN network terminator at the end of the series-connected network (If it is not inserted, reflections and interference will occur in the signal, resulting in abnormal communication)
Startup Procedure
Ensure FFB Tools V3 is closed (i.e. NOT opened)
Power up the Slave and Master FFB yokes, wait for their self-test to complete
Open FFB Tools V3 to auto-connect the Master yoke
Enable Yoke Synchronization in FFB Tools V3 and proceed with normal simulator usage.
(We recommend you wait until the two yokes have fully completed their self-test before opening FFB Tools V3 software and enabling the Yoke Synchronization function to avoid the synchronization data affecting the yoke calibration)
Usage
• Once Yoke Synchronization is enabled on both FFB yokes, when the Master FFB yoke's position changes, it will transmit its position, torque, and other data via the CAN data interface to the data bus. The Slave FFB yoke receiving the data will perform position closed-loop locking based on the received data.
• If the Slave FFB yoke presses the Master-Slave switching button, it will switch to Master mode and transmit its current position and other information via the CAN data interface. When the Master FFB yoke receives this instruction, it will automatically switch to slave mode and follow the movement of the Slave FFB yoke.
(Note: Engine vibration and other vibration effects cannot be coupled and synchronized currently; so when the Master FFB yoke is in slave mode, it will lose such effects. The current version of the FFB software does not support connecting multiple devices.)
• Button 1 is the default Master-Slave switching button (This can be changed in the FFBTools V3 software under Grip Settings -> Synchronization Key Set)
