NOTE: For optimal performance, connect the CLS-Rudder DIRECTLY to your computer when updating the firmware. DO NOT connect it via a USB hub.
The force feedback rudder brings an unprecedented level of realism to flight simulation. Once you've flown with a force feedback rudder pedals you'll never want to return to non-force feedback rudder pedals!
Step #1 - Setup the CLS-Rudder (ONE-TIME SETUP)
Before connecting the cables, ensure the Emergency Stop button is pressed down to ensure the CLS-Rudder is not powered at this stage.
Ensure the rudder pedals is setup correctly by connecting the following cables to the rudder pedals:
USB Port: Connected to the USB-A port of your computer (using a USB-C to USB-A cable)
STOP Port: Connected to the Emergency Stop
PWR Port: Connected to the Power Supply
β
Finally, ensure the rudder pedals is secured to a base plate so that the unit does not move around when powered up.
To power up the CLS-Rudder, ensure the power supply is powered. Then twist the Emergency Stop button to the right and up. This will power up the rudder pedals.
Step #2a - Calibrate the CLS-Rudder in Windows Game Controller (ONE-TIME SETUP)
This step is IMPORTANT as MSFS2020 relies on the calibration data in Windows Game Controller!
Open up Windows Game Controller as follows
Click on the Windows icon > Search 'setup usb' > Click on 'Set up USB game controllers
(Do not open up FFBTools and do not connect the CLS-Rudder to FFBTools yet)
Select CLS-Rudder in Windows Game Controller.
Click on Properties, then click on Settings > Calibrate, then follow the Calibration Wizard instructions
Ensure you carefully follow the calibration instructions to calibrate the yaw axis and toe brakes of the CLS-Rudder.
To calibrate:
Yaw Axis: Press on the rudder pedals fully left and right fully through its full range to its end stops.
Left Brake Axis: Press on the left toe brake fully in and release fully through its full range to its end stops.
Right Brake Axis: Press on the right toe brake fully in and release fully through its full range to its end stops.
Step #2b - If You Are NOT ABLE To Calibrate the CLS-Rudder in Windows Game Controller
IMPORTANT: If you are not able to click on 'Calibrate', DELETE the CLS-Rudder profile in Windows 10 'Device and Printers' or Windows 11 'Bluetooth & Devices' (Locate the 3 dots on the right of the CLS-Rudder and select 'Remove device'. Then restart the yoke by pressing down on the Emergency Stop button and twisting the button to the right and up. A new CLS-Rudder profile will appear and you will be able to click on 'Calibrate' in Windows Game Controller.

Step #2d - Assign Rudder Axis & Toe Brakes in MSFS2024
Step #3a - If You Are Running X-Plane, You MUST Calibrate the CLS-Rudder inside X-Plane > Joystick
Step #3b - Assign Rudder Axis & Toe Brakes in X-Plane 11/12
